Lloyd Banks Responds To Rick Ross' Eminem Diss
"G-Unit's Lloyd Banks has been at odds with Rick Ross since the Miami MC And now that Ross has been hinting at battling Eminem, Banks says that Ross has gone too far."
"As far as calling out Eminem, c'mon man. That's just gonna make me spank on you even harder," Banks said Thursday (April 30), before revealing that he has another diss record coming for Ross, who he slammed with his recent "Officer Down" track.
"I got 'Officer Down, Part II' coming. He'll have to deal with that," Banks added. MTV

"I think had more self-control than a lot of people, and it took control of me, I didn't even see it happening ... just going further out there. Then you look in the mirror one day and realize, 'Wow, I don't like what I see.' I knew I had to do something about it. I had a long run for, like, probably 10 years with no vacation," he explained. "I never went out. I was not the guy at the club. I was almost scared of going to the club. All of a sudden, I found myself working with certain artists from L.A. and hanging out in L.A. and being introduced to a whole new lifestyle ... and getting in trouble with them...It wasn't like an escape for me. It was more like I was having so much fun and, for the first time being let out of the studio, it was like the mad scientist on the loose," he continued. "All of sudden, pictures were snapping and I was famous and it went to my head, I guess. I had to come back to earth...We all think we're not going to get that point," he said about losing control. "It sneaks up on you real fast. ... You don't think it's affecting you, but it does. People probably didn't enjoy talking to me when I was high on cocaine, 'cause I had a friend of mine saying [recently], 'This is the first time I talked to you ever. "What could the extravagant Louis Vuitton Don have in store for his artist Mr Hudson? The British vocalist said that several months ago, Kanye West came into the studio and told him he had a "gift" for him.
"A new Jesus piece?" Hudson thought. Nope. "A hand-me-down Jaguar?" Nah.
It was a record that had the potential to be a hit. West simply told the engineer in the studio to press play, and out of the speakers came the chorus for a song the two wound up collaborating on: "Supernova."
" 'Supernova,' it's a co-write," Hudson explained, sitting in the Beverly Hills Hotel a few days ago. "I think our head space, we kinda overlapped with similar emotions about things when we were hanging out last summer. I think we both could relate to the lyrics, so we built it together. Kanye brought in the chorus. We brought the verses up together."
Kanye and Hudson were shooting the video for their song, which is the first single from the singer's U.S. debut." MTV

"While there is no release date in sight, the anticipation continues to bubble on Jay-Z’s forthcoming album, Blueprint 3. Kanye West mentor and frequent collaborator No I.D. recently spoke on the disc, hinting on how it’s shaping up.
In an interview with Jasiri X, the Chicago producer, who also worked on Jay’s American Gangster, said that him and Kanye are collaborating on Blueprint together.

Rick Ross' "Valley Of Death" Was Intended To Be For Jay-Z
"When DJ Toomp, co-producer of "Valley of Death," first heard the track, he thought about one MC — one rapper perfect to spill rhymes all over the record: Jay-Z.
"I built an empire so crazy down here," DJ Toomp said via cell from Atlanta. "Me and some of my other producers are putting our heads together. I been doing it for 22 years all by myself. At the end of last year, I decided to go round up some producers — we all put our heads together on that joint and that's what it was.
"They brought [a rough version of the 'Valley of Death' beat] to me and I ended up fattening it up," Toomp, credited as the record's producer, explained. (Kevin "Khao" Cates co-produced.) "I heard the whole idea and originally I was gonna give that to Jay-Z, believe it or not." MTV

"Some old Young Angel, Drizzy, Drake, Drizzy Drake Rogers, Jimmy, whatever you feel comfortable calling him. This is an old track during the recording of the Comeback Season Mixtape. Drake was a fan of Tanya Morgan and Von was also a fan of his (everyone that knows me, knows I’m always putting on for the city and sending everyone not from the Dot songs from artists I’m down with) so I linked them together. We couldn’t get them all in the same studio in time, so the quality of the song wasn’t great when D was putting it together with 40 for the mixtape. It eventually got scrapped, and he used his verses on another beat. Ah well. This is only 1 of 3 joints i got with them. Ha! BTW this was put together with just the references (thanks to Aeon!) so we couldn’t split up Drakes verses, this ain’t no mixtape dub (ex. “I’m Goin In”) this was O-FISH-ALL. Shout out to Boi-1da on the boards!"

""I think Killa is about to really, really show off," Pusha T said. "When you hear the Clipse and Killa, it's gonna be an amazing thing. Definitely!
"It's entitled 'Back by Popular Demand,' " he continued. "I think the title explains a lot. Cam has been away from the scene. The want for the Clipse is high. It's just, like, 'Back by Popular Demand' is fitting."
"It's crazy, I can say that," big brother Malice added, not wanting to divulge too much about the song.
Pharrell Williams produced the track and sings on the chorus. The Clipse and Williams are in Miami, deep in studio mode — as we talked to the brothers, Pharrell was inside making a new beat. Till the Casket Drops is tentatively due in early September but, before then, expect a ton of material in advance of the project."

Producers Cool & Dre Talk Weezy's "Rebirth" Album
""The best way to describe the Rebirth record is that it's a Lil Wayne record," Cool's partner Dre said. "It's where Lil Wayne is right now in his life and career — he's expressing himself musically. 'Prom Queen' came out and that's a rock record and so everybody is like, 'He's putting out a rock album and he's on the cover of Rolling Stone magazine.' Yeah, there's some rock records on there, but there's also some records where he's rapping. It's a Lil Wayne album. It's what you expect from Lil Wayne, where he's at creatively.
"It's almost like where Outkast was when they made Aquemini," he continued. "It's still a rap album, but was it really a rap album compared to all the other rap albums at that time? André Benjamin was evolving artistically to where he's at now — Wayne is doing the same thing, and he's not afraid to show you his growth. It's one thing we respect about him, and we feel it's something that everybody else should respect about him ... hes shows no fear. To put himself out there, you're watching someone as they progress in their career.
"He paid his dues, he put out a million mixtapes and he put out classic albums ... Rebirth is going to be another classic album," he added."

"We were at the inauguration, and there was this tent full of showbiz people and their families. Jamie came over and said, 'Hey, I’m shooting a video in L.A., will you come by?' I was picturing a sort of 'We Are The World' thing. So I showed up, and Jamie said, 'It's this party scene, and you're going to drive up with Jake Gyllenhaal and Forest Whitaker and me. The only thing is that you’ve got to wear your party face.' I said, 'I don’t think you want my party face, because this is it . That may not be what you want.' Jamie and the director, Hype Williams, said, 'No, we want your game face, very serious.' So we’re getting ready to roll and all we hear from the director is, 'Uh, hey Ron, no smiling, remember, real serious, real serious,' and, 'RON, NO SMILING, NO SMILING,' and, 'RON, NO SMILING!' and, 'ACTION!' So we did that a couple of times, and then we went in and sat with the girls and toasted champagne. I had no idea what in the world it was or what I was doing. I do not have a secret night-clubbing side. I’m the opposite of a big pimpin’ kind of dude. Probably the last time I was in a club was doing research for Night Shift in 1981. Discos, they were called then. When I saw the finished result I did ask around: 'Is it okay that I did this?' I mean, I am one of the whitest men in the world. I like singer-songwriters.
